eFail

I have some old programming books lying around that are frankly a bit outdated and not the types of things I ever wanted to learn in the first place. I decided to finally joining the 21st century and auction them off on eBay to get a little extra cash for all the furniture I’m going to need to buy soon (see previous post). Well, I know I at least had a user account on eBay so I went to sign in and not surprisingly had the wrong password. I tried to get the password sent to me but I’m afraid my account is so old it uses an email address which I stopped using years ago. I then decided to just register under my name but found out that I must have already tried this too years ago. I went to retrieve that password and was told I needed to verify my account before retrieving the password. Right, so I had to login and verify in order to get a password to login. After guessing most of my standard passwords I finally logged in to start selling. Well, another 15 minutes later and I find out my stack of books is worth a total of $20, with one book costing $15 and the others combining for a measly $5. I threw half my books away, decided to keep a few others, and put only the $15 book on eBay. Yes, I fail at eBay, the simple tool millions of idiots use daily to make money selling Jesus cheetos and used sneakers.
