Sorry

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Man, I’ve been bad at adding my failures to this blog. It’s not like I’m not failing, believe me, I am, I’ve just actually been busy at work and thus skipping most of my lunch breaks, which is my prime time for adding posts. Perhaps to make up for this over the next few days I’ll add a fail that has happened to me over the last few weeks.

Oh, right

Slow cookers cook better when they’re actually plugged in.

A great start

Monday, January 4th, 2010

I started this week by forgetting my glasses at home and missing the first bus in the morning. Go me.

Noooooooo!

I just left my hat on a city bus while transporting WAY too many groceries for one person to carry. I get so attached to my hats yet I lose them nearly every year. At least this hat lasted two whole winters.

Sheesh

I’m no good at this blog thing.

Don’t Fix It!!!

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

I spent the better part of my work day trying to recreate and fix a weird error that popped up while I was testing the Flash audio player I wrote for use on our websites. I eventually tore so much of the code apart that a ton of functionality was destroyed and I had to go back to last week’s version of everything. It was then that I discovered that the bug I had seen only occurred because I had the audio player open both on my local machine and on our testing server and that it really wasn’t a bug at all, or at least not one I have control over. After a few hours of work I’m right back where I started this morning, huzzah.

Think Big

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

As I was attempting to brown meatballs for tonight’s baked pasta dish I stood there wondering why it was taking so damn long. Only after I waited for 25 minutes for the meat to cook through did I notice that I had the large skillet on the small electric burner. Good job me.

Too Much Success

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

When you succeed too much you actually end up failing I have found out. At the start of this summer I potted an herb and vegetable garden for the first time ever and tended to the plants somewhat diligently all summer long. They grew pretty well and I enjoyed the occasional sprigs of mint and basil but sort of stopped paying attention as nothing else was really growing. Well, as frost now approaches I went out to check on the plants and found out that the tomatoes actually did quite well. However, since I let them sit out for way too long they all fell to the dirty porch floor or got to be overripe and split.  Boo.

Bang Boom Crash

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

So, after losing the upstairs of our apartment I moved my drumset into the basement but have not been able to play it since because it’s simply too loud. I have a set of mesh practice heads which I’ve been meaning to put on but was unable to do because I lost my drum key at some point. Well, I finally got a new drum key and got all excited to put the practice heads on and start playing again when I remembered that the practice heads are actually for a drumset one size too small. Awesome. I’ll have to find some new practice heads or devise some stupid muting system involving old t-shirts or something. Boooo.

And it all Falls Apart

Monday, August 24th, 2009

Tonight we made cookies using the leftover malt grains from brewing. They absolutely fell apart into disastrous but tasty puddles of mush. That’ll teach us to use a lot of wet ingredients and not put the dough in the fridge for the recommended hour. Pictures to come soon.
