Perfect Timing

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

As you may know by looking at my posts from last August my landlord and his family moved into the converted attic above us last year. It made our apartment considerably less awesome and was one of the major contributing factors to cause us to look for a new place this year. This morning, the day after I turned in a check and application for another apartment, we get a note on the door that he’s moving out. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGHHHH. I just want to be done with the apartment hunt. I’m curious to know what their plans for the converted attic are since it’s not really a place of its own. If we were to stay, would it be vacant? If we were to move, will they just find the next lucky batch of 4 people to live there? Most importantly, why couldn’t this have been made known about 2 weeks ago?

Easter Vacation

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

I didn’t realize the week after Easter was such a vacation week for people. It seems that everyone I have questions for at work is gone all week and the tasks I’m supposed to working with them on are all due by Thursday or Friday. Um, thanks?

Soaked to the Bone

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

Well, three days into bike commuting I’m already reverting back to the bus due to the weather. It started raining at 9pm last night and hasn’t really let up since. I took a purple, yes a purple, umbrella to work but still ended up fairly soaked. I’m now sitting at work next to a purple umbrella with my shoes off in an attempt to get dry feet. My dress pants and shoes are about 5 shades darker brown than they actually are right now due to the water. I knew that nice weather in April wouldn’t last.

Um, give me a minute…

Wow, tough decisions. Risky decisions. Decisions I need to make really, really soon.

Better Bus

Monday, November 16th, 2009

So, I haven’t had to pay the extra dollar for “freeway fare” on the bus in the last week. Sweet for me, but fail on the bus drivers.

Take My Money and RUN!

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

Anybody who knows me well enough is already aware at how bad I am at paperwork and how much I avoid doctors. Thus, I’m really living a nightmare right now trying to sort through the insurance papers after getting the MRI done on my knee. I have a few pieces of paper that say “This is NOT A BILL” and then proceed to tell me how much I owe. Um, help? I can find the same documents online but there are no payment instructions of any sort. I’m beyond confused.

Confused

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

So I’ve been taking the bus to work for a week now. Every morning the bus has taken a slightly different route and each bus driver has had a different opinion on whether or not this particular route costs and extra dollar or not. I’ve had to walk anywhere between 6 and 20 blocks depending on where the bus ended up. Today’s bus driver told me I didn’t need to pay an extra dollar – after I paid the extra dollar. So confused.

The Big Hurt

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

It cost me a total of $240 for my car to break. Yes, I’m losing my means of transportation and an additional $240 in towing and mechanic’s costs. Meanwhile taking the bus is going to cost me about $100/month, nearly twice the gas budget of the car. It’s just about time to give up and stay home.

On the bright side, it’s all over and I am rid of that car.

Stop Raining

Three days of taking the bus to work, three days of cold rain. Thanks, I really needed insult piled on top of injury.

That Just Hurts

My mechanic has a better website than any one we’ve ever created at work: http://www.riversideautomotive.com/
